Access to justice is a fundamental right, yet for many women in Northwest Nigeria, it remains more aspirational than attainable. Despite the presence of legal and institutional frameworks designed to safeguard rights and deliver justice, persistent evidence reveals that women face deep-rooted barriers long before they can even engage these systems.
These challenges are not simply a matter of inadequate laws, but of limited access shaped by restrictive social norms, economic constraints, geographic isolation, and institutional shortcomings. Addressing these access gaps is essential to ensuring that justice systems are not only available in principle, but truly reachable and responsive in practice.

Sometimes we find it difficult to understand what all inclusiveness means with lots of shortcomings geared and affecting women including access to justice.Without proper planning to involve women all round, we are yet to arrive
Despite having many women lawyers with their networks Organizations, we still don’t see much change when it comes to women access to justice not only Northwest but all over the nation and Africa.
