KanoAisha Datti Ameen is a Program Assistant with Rule of Law and Empowerment Initiative, also known as Partners West Africa Nigeria (PWAN). In this role, she oversees the pro bono cases handled by the organization. She brings her 6 years of expertise and experience in courtroom litigation, mediation, strategic planning and case management.
Aisha has previously worked as a volunteer gender officer and human rights defender and was involved in several Public Interest Litigation matters at the Center for Human Rights and Social Advancement (CEFSAN). Part of her experience involves handling pro bono legal matters relating to marital issues and domestic violence, child abuse and molestation, custody and maintenance of children, and sexual and gender-based violence. She also gained extensive experience in Civil and Commercial Litigation, legal drafting, legal research & problem analysis, and case management while working with a private Law Firm, Monument Attorneys.
She obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree (L.L.B) from the University of Abuja and her Barrister at Law (B.L) Certificate from the Nigerian Law School, Bwari, Abuja. Aisha is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and a member of the ADR/Litigation Committee of the International Federation of Women Lawyers.
